Arman T. Riahi: Biography

Project Title: D'EHRE

Arman was born in Iran and grew up in Vienna, Austria, where he did his first short films as a teenager. He studied media technologies and worked as a screen- and graphic designer in London (Less Rain Ltd.) & Vienna (Golden Girls Filmproduktion).

In 2005, he started his TV-career as a director of 25min-TV-shows, f.e. “Sendung ohne Namen” (youth programme) or “Sunshine Airlines” (culture programme), for the ORF (Austrian Broadcasting Corporation).

His short film “Elektronikschrott” (“Elektrotrash”, 11min.) won the nation wide short film award “Shorts On Screen 2005”. In 2006, Arman took part at the Berlinale Talent Campus as director/screenwriter. 2008 Arman co-wrote & directed the TV-documentary series “Momentum – What drives you” (Red Bull Media House).

Currently, he is finishing his first cinema documentary “Schwarzkopf” (“Dark Head”, Golden Girls Filmproduktion, 2010) & working on a new TV-show called “Neue Wiener” about the young immigrants in Vienna, for nation wide private TV Puls4.
