Itandehui Jansen: Biography
Writer/Director
Project Title: GOD WAS NEVER THERE
Itandehui was born in Oaxaca, Mexico. She studied film directing at the Netherlands Film and Television Academy in Amsterdam and Comparative Literature at Leiden University. She participated in different international training programs, such as the VISIONS project organized by CILECT (Centre International de Liaison des Ecoles de Cinéma et Télévision) and the Binger Film Lab. She has directed several documentaries that were shown at international festivals such as IDFA, the Latin American Film Festival in Utrecht and the Native American Film Festival in New York City. She is currently finishing her PhD thesis at the Academy for Creative and Performing Arts at Leiden University. She recently finished shooting two short films, El Ultimo Consejo and Alma & Esperanza, which are currently in postproduction. Dios No Estaba Ahi will be her first feature film. The project obtained production funding from the Mexican Fund for Art Cinema (FOPROCINE) and will be shot in October 2011.
